LAUSD is excited to offer a new service to students called Wellness Centers! They have been opening in school campuses over the past few years. Wellness Centers offer physical health and mental health services for students, their families, and the community! Students have a special entrance from their campus at all Wellness Centers. Students from other campuses are able to go through the community entrance. Wellness Centers offer vaccines, sports physicals, therapy and mental health services, STD testing, pregnancy testing, birth control, and more! Happy New Year! Okay so we are in mid-January, but still, it is the first month of the year 2013. We are back to having that “tabula rasa”. The blank slate. That phrase is so refreshing for me personally, because I picture myself holding a blank slate and literally drawing all the things I want to achieve this year. But where do we start?

SOCIAL MEDIA CHANGING RELATIONSHIPS

So I’m sitting at home the other day and as usual when I’m bored, I take out my laptop and start opening the pages I usually open on the internet. I check to see if I have any new notifications on Facebook, then to see what’s new on my Twitter timeline. I check out a few videos on Youtube. Then I pull out my iPhone and check to see who has liked my last picture on Instagram. If I had a Tumblr, I’m sure I would have checked that, too. So all these things stress me out enough just by checking for new notifications.
